Clinical Supervision
SLCC offers Clinical Supervision of Counselor Trainees/LPC’s
The goal of clinical supervision is to ensure the quality of client care by new professionals in the field. The focus is on building skills and knowledge of the profession while facilitating personal and professional growth!
Supervision of trainees includes:
In person and virtual one on one meetings for case review
Guidance in basic counseling skills and case management
Accountability assistance for tracking hours
Guidance in ethics and adhering to board standards
Supervision is provided in a respectful, warm, and supportive environment by Calisa Nickelson, M.A., LPCC-S, who has twenty years of clinical experience, ten years of private practice experience, and has been licensed in Ohio since 2014.
*****Supervision guidelines are set by the Ohio Counselor, Social worker, Marriage and Family board at a rate of one hour of face to face supervision for every twenty hours of client interaction by the counselor in training.
